Prices
From £1600 per night for 2 or more nights for up to 16 guests.
We are happy to accept 1 night stays at £2000 per night.
Extra guests are charged at £100 per person per night. The house can sleep 27.
We request a damage deposit of £1000 which is refundable if no damage.
Please note : these prices may rise at peak periods such as Bank Holidays, Hay Festival, Christmas, Easter or New Year.
Yoga & Pilates Retreats
Tall John’s House is the perfect venue for a yoga or Pilates retreat. The Barn with its under-floor heating and quiet ambience, provides a warm, light and generous space for exercise and the Manor House offers comfortable and friendly accommodation. We adapt entirely to your timetable with regards to meals, use of the Barn etc. The wonderfully tranquil countryside and the splendid gardens add unique dimension to the retreat experience.
Shooting Parties
After a wonderful day out in the open with friends and colleagues and, hopefully, a very good day’s sport – what is better than coming home to a warm house, a comfortable bedroom, a hot bath and a roaring log fire? The house is exclusively yours so you have the atmosphere of a private house gathering. Add to this friendly staff who are flexible to your needs and timetable, and your choice of food, and what more could you want? Feel free to bring your own drinks and we are delighted to say there is no corkage charge!
Celebrations
There are so many reasons to have a get together…. a big birthday, wedding anniversary, family reunion, to name just a few. The Manor House has several spacious reception rooms which provide you with lots of options. We can organise all the food if you wish, so no-one carries the burden of catering, but you can also dine out at the wide variety of restaurants locally; there is lots to do, see and enjoy in the surrounding countryside. Feel free to bring your own drinks and we happy to say there is no corkage charge!
Exclusive Use of Tall John's House
We are delighted to offer you your own exclusive and private Georgian Manor House, decorated and furnished to a high standard with antique furniture and beautiful paintings. The property is an ideal choice for family gatherings, shooting breaks, business retreats, celebrations and get-togethers. Our charming and experienced staff will be on hand to help you enjoy your stay. We are easily accessible from the Midlands, London and the West Country, being less than 1 hour from the Severn Bridge.
The elegant reception rooms include a large traditional entrance hall with a wood burner; a wonderful Georgian drawing room with its high ceiling, bay windows, delicately carved cornices, chandelier and wood burner; a generous bay-windowed dining room that seats 16 - 18 people with ease; a delightfully cosy jockey club bar where you can store and serve drinks to your guests; a large library with sky glass television, board games and wood burner; and a separate games room with billiard table. There is also a cloakroom downstairs and a useful boot-hole for coats, boots and walking gear. There is oil-fired central heating throughout and lashings of hot water. There is further entertaining space available if you wish to party.
In the Manor House there are three Superior bedrooms which are elegant, light and spacious with large Georgian windows and all the character of the period. They have been renovated to a high standard and each have their own large and well-equipped bathroom. Two of these have super-king beds that can be split to make twins; the other one has a king size bed. There are two further double rooms in the Manor House with their own private bathrooms (not en suite). Just across the lawn in the converted Stables there are a further four double bedrooms and two singles, all with en suite bath or shower rooms; there is a further double and single bedroom with a shared bathroom. This means that a maximum of 23 guests can be accommodated to sleep. We do have two extra double bedrooms in the old wing that share a bathroom if extra sleeping space is needed. All bedrooms are provided with plenty of large, fluffy towels, hair-dryers and a range of soaps, shampoos and shower gels.
There is free wi-fi connection throughout, a beautiful walled garden and spacious lawns.
Ample parking is available and our house team are on site to give you any assistance throughout your stay.
