We have lovingly restored and rejuvenated our beautiful stone barn to make the perfect space for you to create the wedding of your dreams.
The barn is a blank canvas venue - it is yours to style as you wish, to create a space that is personal, individual and unique to you. We know every bride is different, every couple is unique and your wedding day should reflect that. To help you create the wedding day you have both dreamed of, we offer you the chance to make the barn your own - your friends, your family, your style.
We give you complete control
Using our extensive and varied supplier list you can decorate, furnish, light and characterise the barn to your own tastes, and your own budget. So if you’re after that certain flower from your first date to hang from the beams, or the bunting in your favourite colours or maybe a light up bar and the mirror dance floor to really get the party started- then not only will we let you do it, we’ll show you where to find it. Remember that we are a blank canvas venue, so if you’d rather source your own suppliers then that’s fine with us too.
Many traditional venues only offer a handful of structured packages, hidden with obligatory choices, ‘must haves’ and hidden extras which can leave couples feeling constrained, hemmed in and with no flexibility, control or power to create the day they really desire. Weddings at Tall John’s House give you complete control to take over the barn from Friday to Sunday and transform it into the space YOU want for your wedding day.
Stunning Surroundings
The icing on the (wedding) cake is that as well as the use of our beautiful barn, you have access to to the enchanting, private courtyard behind the barn. The enclosed courtyard has an attractive wooden pergola over the paved floor and has transparent rain cover for overcast days. To the front of the barn is plenty of access for your suppliers, disabled access and parking for disabled guests.
On the day of your wedding you will also have the use of the exquisite grounds at Tall Johns House, including the stunning walled garden with its rose bower, rill and double swing. This is the ideal setting, for pre-dinner drinks and wedding photographs.
The Essentials
PRICES FOR 2025
The exclusive 3 day wedding package is £8000 on any weekend in July and August, £7000 on any weekend in May, June and September. All other weekends in the year and mid week weddings are £6000.
A damage deposit of £1000 will be added to the final payment for the basic wedding package.

Weekend in July & August - £8000

Weekend in November to April inclusive - £6000
A damage deposit of £1000 will be added to the final payment for the basic wedding package.
Included in the fee:
A beautifully restored barn that will seat (formally) 160 guests – this will be available from 9am on the day before your wedding until 2pm on the day after.

Integral toilets (including disabled facilities and baby-changing)
Large glass double doors opening onto the secluded rear courtyard. This can be covered upon request
Our beautiful grounds at Tall John’s House for photographs or pre-dinner drinks on the day of your wedding

Optional extras:
Use of the Granary for your civil ceremony (£250) or as a reception space (£600).
Discounted price for our adjoining 4 bedroomed (self-catering) Honeysuckle Cottage (sleeps 9), if taken for a minimum of two nights.
Discounted price for our romantic 1 bedroom cottage, The Coachman’s.
Exclusive use of our Georgian Manor House as staffed accommodation. The Manor House can accommodate up to 24 people and breakfast is included. There are two overflow rooms (for 4 people) which can be used once the house has been fully booked. Bedrooms can also be taken on a bed and breakfast basis if the house has not been taken for Exclusive Use.
Our dedicated staff can also provide additional meals upon request; for example a family meal on the eve of the wedding or a brunch for guests on the morning afterwards.
Camping available on request at a fee of £10 per person per night. This must be booked in advance and portable toilet facilities will need to be provided by you.
Civil ceremony fee - £400 (includes chairs)
Damage deposits will required for all separately booked accommodation.
