Our blank canvas wedding barn is finally completed

We have finally finished restoring our beautiful Welsh barn and it really does look fantastic!

It has been quite a struggle to accommodate planning requirements including a possible, but so far, invisible bat population, with the need for all the modern necessities our couples are looking for - state of the art underfloor heating, quality insulation, abundant electrical points, modern toilets and an integral kitchen area.

We have installed hard flooring suitable for dancing and have glassed in the slit windows with up and down lighters; we have retained as much of the original brickwork and beams as permitted and believe we have preserved the charm and romance of the traditional Welsh barn.

Our barn is a blank canvas venue

Which means it is yours to style as you wish. You can create the wedding you have both dreamed of. We are here to support you with our extensive suppliers list and your own onsite wedding assistant but the choices are all yours. Weddings at Tall John’s House give you complete control to take over the barn from Friday to Sunday and transform it into the space YOU want for your wedding day.

The barn has a beautiful protected courtyard to the rear where you could erect a marquee for extra space and to the front of the barn is a further courtyard, with views out across the Black Mountains. The beautiful grounds of Tall John’s House provide a wonderful backdrop for your wedding including the stunning walled garden, for pre-dinner drinks and wedding photographs.

We can offer civil ceremonies in our enchanting gazebo on a natural stage in the garden and in the barn itself. This winter we are completing our renovation by transforming our Granary to a split level space for civil ceremonies or extra reception space.

Tall John’s Weddings has hosted several weddings this summer, including our own daughter’s wedding in September – we are really looking forward to more weddings in 2019.
