Dogs at Wedding Celebrations

We have the reputation of being a dog-loving nation. Although actually there are more dogs in France per capita of the population than there are in the UK – which is surprising don’t you think?

We welcome dogs

Here at Tall John’s Weddings we welcome dogs and it is surprising for how many couples that is a bit of a deal-breaker.

If you love your dog it makes sense you would want him or her present on what is one of the most significant days of your life.

We do have a few “dog rules” – not on the beds or furniture, wipe off muddy dogs and – most importantly – pick up their poos in the gardens and grounds. Everyone so far seems to think these are reasonable requests.

We have welcomed lots of dogs here and we have never had a problem – nice dogs means nice owners and I think the owners recognize that not every venue allows you to bring dogs and are therefore particularly appreciate of our tolerance.

The combination of dogs and children is a winner! You can get your sweetest bridesmaids to lead the dog up the aisle – lots of oohs and ahs as a result! Little dogs can be carried on a cushion and put in a prominent position. We’ve even seen either one of the couple leading their beloved dog up to the alter as part of the bridal party…. And why not I say!

Of course the reception is possibly the part most dogs enjoy more. Surely something delicious is going to drop to the floor if you keep your beady eyes open!

As Tall John’s Weddings is exclusively yours for the weekend you don’t have to worry about people complaining about your dog – they are all your guests so that should be fine.

And another great thing about including your dog in your wedding celebration is that they certainly add something very special to the photographs.

So there you are – we are a nation of dog-lovers and our commitment to their presence at our weddings somehow proves it!
