But it is really important to choose suppliers not only that you get on with and who understand what you are trying to achieve, but also who are reliable, honest and straightforward.
Literally just down the road from Tall John’s Weddings are The Plate People. I could walk there if I wanted!
The Plate People were established in 2002 by the lovely Louise (Lou) Carleto. They have been supplying crockery, cutlery, glassware and table linen for over 15 years so they know what they are doing! A huge plus is that everything is delivered sparkling clean and nicely wrapped and they take it away from you dirty! What’s not to like about that?
Because they are good people, they have a network of other good people and we are very pleased to be part of that network of suppliers who really care about doing the best job possible. They have links with venues, caterers, photographers – everything.
No event is too small or too large for The Plate People to tackle! Personally, I find Lou really helpful at giving advice about quantities, sizes etc and she will often remind me of something I should have ordered but have overlooked! By the same token, she will also sometimes say the magic words “you don’t need that!” which is not always something a supplier enjoys.
Lou has a really good selection of all the things you will need for your wedding meal – and a few things you might not have thought of! She works with caterers but also with private people and what is great is that if you ring up you actually get to speak to her and can ask advice – an absolute godsend!
